Hello you crazy kids, just a courtesy message to let you all know I’ve joined the incredibly talented team of writers here! (woo.)

So you know we are not a bunch of robots, we take the time to give ourselves a bit of an image. So here’s a few facts about me: I’m the youngest Jedi Master in the UK and when I originally joined I was the youngest in the world (that might still be the case).

I’m also one of the youngest lords of England, in 2011 I released my first novel (Graceful Insanity) I’m a bit of a gaming fanatic and have appeared on several gaming related programs, including the Nexus. But I’m also a comic lover and, obviously, a Star Wars fanboy.

My work can be found dotted around the internet; you should google me – Custard Trout

Who to look for: If you want to tell me how brilliant I am (beat me with a stick) look out for a guy in a red trench coat with long hair and a trout tie, that’s me. I hope.

Stan Lee prices haven't been announced yet but according to London Super Comic Con, they will be in the next few weeks. We have heard rumours from various sources that he will be charging £50 plus per signature. Here at comic conventions we can quote London Super Comic Con on this one "levels quoted are too high", so there you have it. Signatures will be less than £50.

Also from Desert Wind Comics "The average price for Stan Lee signatures in 2011 at a public signing event was $50 (£33) per item signed. This price did not include and CGC gradings"

MCM Expo comes to Birmingham for the first time in 2012 Print E-mail

Already noted for their highly successful Memorabilia Fair at the NEC in Birmingham, MCM are looking to expand on the popularity of the comic convention by holding a simultaneous event next to the Memorabilia hall.  Until the arrival of the Birmingham International Comics Show, there was very little in the way of mainstream convention activity serving the Midlands which is a travesty given that there is a larger catchment within a hundred mile radius than even London can manage.

Running at the NEC on the weekend of 31st March to the 1st April 2012, the new show will feature everything from cosplay and comics to DDR and the latest videogames whilst letting the Memorabilia do what it does best in the hall next door.  Perhaps best of all is the cost; entrance to both events fall under one ticket priced at £10 making it a virtual steal.  If the event is as well organised as the others, then we should certainly put this one on the list for 2012.

MCM Manchester ticket fears PDF Print E-mail

A recent flood of fear swarmed over various people when they went to check out the MCM Manchester tickets situation, the site seemingly claiming all tickets had sold out and were only purchasable on the door. Now most people would think they simply had not yet updated the website but they did with a new picture from the previous year’s expo.

So, perhaps understandably, people became frantic and worried, looking everywhere for an answer. Well we took it upon ourselves to contact MCM and the response was reassuring. They told me to let everyone know to put their fears aside as they will have plenty of time to buy tickets, and they expect them to be on sale in February.

In another excellent coup, the organisers over at the London Super Comic Convention have not only managed to attract the American publishing giant IDW to the show, they have also secured an exclusive convention cover and an opportunity to have your portfolio reviewed by them at the same time.

This is the first time that IDW will make the trip to the UK to attend a convention and a huge bonus to those going along in February on top of Stan Lee attending.  Meanwhile Mark Millar has announced that the lineup for Kapow will be revealed in February but at this rate, the LSCC is already shaping up nicely to be the best convention in 2012.
